6 Pet-Friendly Philly Events this Holiday Season

6 Pet-Friendly Philly Events this Holiday Season

Queenie’s Pets is here to help you deck the halls, spin the dreidel, sip some cocoa, and do whatever else you do to celebrate Winter!

The holiday season is upon us, which means you can finally admire your dog in the warmth of twinkling lights. Sure, the spirit of giving and family gatherings is part of the package, too. But let’s be real. Nothing beats the glow of light refracting off a wet nose.

We’ve put together a guide of pet-friendly events and places to help you get the most out of Philly this holiday season.

Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market

What:

Chances are you have to shop anyway, so why not go to a beautiful outdoor market with your pup in tow? Here you’ll find french macaroons, vintage clothing and accessories, crafts, books, candles, and more! The Philadelphia Holiday Market hosts forty-three vendors and centers around an ice rink and winter garden! No, your dog can’t ice skate with you (no matter how talented she is), but you can enjoy the sights, sounds, and of smells of this holiday gathering!

Holiday Tree

What:

The Philadelphia Holiday tree is here! If you check it out, you won’t be impressed by much other than the size. HOWEVER, the Tree Lighting ceremony is on December 1st and that is guaranteed to be a sight. From December 1st on, take your pup to “OOH” and “aww” at the biggest tree in Philly.

Peddler’s Village

What:

“A million lights, a million smiles” and a million dogs on leashes. Okay, we embellished the tagline a bit, but Peddler’s Village bodes fine and casual dining, a carousel, arcade, gingerbread houses, and pretty much anything else festive you could possibly want this Holiday season. The Merchants open on November 18th, as does the gingerbread competition display! Enjoy this 60-year Philly tradition with your favorite dogs and humans.

German Christmas Village at Love Park

What:

Visit Love Park and City Hall for a German Christmas Market! This market welcomes over one hundred vendors and can help you knock a lot of items off your holiday shopping list while getting you, your family, and your dog in the holiday spirit!  Dogs are permitted in the entire outdoor and most indoor tent areas (dogs are not allowed in the Käthe Wohlfahrt vending area). Please keep in mind that the tent area gets pretty crowded on weekend days, which might be uncomfortable for your dog.

Waggin’ Wednesdays at Tinseltown Holiday Spectacular

What:

We are particularly excited about the Tinseltown Holiday Spectacular because they have a wonderful approach to pets! Dogs are permitted on site on Wednesdays, allowing them to enjoy the sights without the large weekend crowds. At Tinseltown, you’ll find a large ice slide, holiday performances, an ice rink, story time and more! Dogs must be leashed while on premises and owners are expected to clean up any leavings. They ask that you leave aggressive dogs at home and reserve the right to ask any misbehaving dogs (or people, we assume) to leave.
