COVID-19 Care Protocol:

Queenie’s PetsⓇ always maintains the highest standards of health, safety and comfort of the pets in our care. In this challenging time of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, our caregivers are taking extra precautions by wearing masks any time they are in the homes of our clients, washing hands before and after every visit, and, if you as the client request it, they will wipe your dog down with an Earthbath grooming wipe after their walk. Grooming wipes can be purchased at cost and dropped off by a team member for your convenience.

Any staff member exhibiting signs of illness will be allowed/asked to remain home, and it is our request that all clients make us aware if anyone in your home has either been feeling unwell or has recently traveled . In accordance with social distancing practices, all clients are requested to have their pets ready for us upon arrival for a visit (where possible). If possible, having a separate leash/harness for your dog that is designated for Queenie’s PetsⓇ use only will minimize crossover contact. If you do not have an extra leash, one can be purchased at deep discount so as to make this easier. We request that all crated dogs have their crates as close to the entrance as possible.

Our usual cancellation policies will remain in place in order to allow for proper scheduling and staggering of our staff and to remain a viable and strong contribution to our community. It is our hope that all of the special practices put into place now will keep everyone healthy and safe while still providing an important – and often essential – service to you, our loyal and beloved clients.

Queenie’s Kibble Kitchen™

Help Feed Hungry Pets in Northwest Philadelphia

Philadelphia, PA

Queenie’s Pets™ a locally-owned professional dog-walking and pet sitting company in Northwest Philadelphia, announces the launch of Queenie’s Kibble Kitchen™, a no-contact, drive-through food pantry that will support pet parents in the time of COVID-19.

As Philadelphians struggle to feed their families, many worry about how to provide for their beloved dogs and cats as well. Starting on Thursday, May 7, Queenie’s Kibble Kitchen™ will be here to help, hosting bi-weekly distribution of free dog food, cat food and cat litter.  Distribution will take place on the second and fourth Thursday of the month, from 4-6 p.m. while supplies last, and will be provided on a first-come, first served basis.

To obtain supplies from Queenie’s Kibble Kitchen™, line up on West Mount Airy Avenue just west of Germantown Avenue. Please stay in your car.  Walkups are not permitted in order to maintain safe social distancing.  Kibble Kitchen volunteers in masks and gloves will load food directly into your car.

Queenie’s Kibble Kitchen™ is funded entirely by donations.  For the pilot phase, donations can be accepted ONLY via Venmo at @QueeniesKK.  No contribution is too small, and all contributions will be used exclusively to feed hungry pets.  At the present time, contributions are not tax-deductible.

For many people, pets are beloved members of the family. The goal of Queenie’s Kibble Kitchen™ is to provide food and supplies for the dogs and cats that provide crucial emotional support during this time of crisis.

Quotes:

Longtime Queenie’s Pets® client, Ann Mintz, was one of the first to contribute to this project saying: “I’m proud to help launch an initiative that will help our neighbors take care of their beloved pets.”

Hannah Babcock, Operations Manager at Queenie’s Pets® and point person for the project stated: “It is times like these that we can really see how strong and supportive we are as a community and I’m so grateful that we are able to come together to provide for pet parents who are struggling to maintain the safe and healthy lifestyle that their pets deserve. It’s important to advocate for those who are unable to do so for themselves and I think that is really at the core of what we are doing here.”
