Adina, Owner

Adina Silberstein (aka “Queenie”!) is the founder, President and CEO of Queenie’s Pets®.  She is a professional business and leadership coach, a canine nutritional expert, a Certified Canine Massage Therapist, and a contributing writer for national & local pet-related blogs.

Adina has been involved with animals her entire life. Growing up with dogs, cats, birds, fish, hermit crabs, hamsters and gerbils, she fell naturally into pet sitting in high school and supported herself through college by pet sitting for politicians in Washington, DC. She worked as an intern at the Philadelphia Zoo and volunteered at the Animal Rescue Force (ARF) in New Jersey as a young adult. After living in Denmark, England, and around the US, Adina returned to Philadelphia in 2000 to work in and support the community she most loves, Northwest Philadelphia.

Adina founded Queenie’s Pets® in 2006, with the mission of building community through exceptional pet care, establishing the company and our team as industry leaders from the start. Having a highly and continually-trained, passionate staff of caregivers who earn a living wage, as well as working together strongly as a team, lends itself to Team Queenie’s being able to consistently deliver exceptional service and care for your family. The Queenie’s philosophy is that we are far more than “just” the dog walkers; we are family, friends, listeners, trouble shooters and [pet-related] advice-givers.

With a fervent commitment to caring for animals in a way that is pain-free, force-free, and stress-free, Adina built Queenie’s Pets® as a positive-reinforcement-based company, and guarantees that your pets will always be respected, have their needs met and their worries abated by her loving, highly-trained staff of caregivers.

As a business and leadership coach, Adina is committed to raising the level of professionalism in the pet care industry as a whole. Through working with motivated business owners at any stage in their business, Adina guides her clients to hone in on and improve upon their pain points. By serving as a coach, rather than a consultant, Adina listens to the self-identified needs, goals, and intentions of her clients, and encourages them to refine and perfect their business practices in ways that support them as individuals, the missions of their companies, and the needs of their human and pet clients.

Adina and Queenie’s Pets® are active members of many professional associations, including the Pet Professional Guild, Pet Sitters International, National Association of Professional Pet Sitters, Business Association of Mt. Airy, Chestnut Hill Business Association, and more.  A graduate of American University as well as the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program, Adina continues to provide ongoing leadership and entrepreneurial coaching and is committed to helping colleagues and business owners thrive and succeed.

Queenie’s Pets® commercial storefront in Mt. Airy operates as an office as well as a community center for pet owners.  Queenie’s offers pet loss and grief support (by appointment), a resource library, educational workshops and lecture series, and retail that offers the best in positive-reinforcement and healthy-living toys, treats and tools.

Adina knows she has the best job in the world and is grateful for every client that makes this career possible. She lives in East Mt. Airy and is mom to rescue pets Mouse (a feisty, Maine Coon mix), MeloDrama (a Rottie-Scottie mix) and Brucie Marbles, a blind, differently-abled kitty she adopted after he was passed over in foster care for over two years (who is now the light of her life and MeloDrama’s best friend).
